WHAT DO YOU CHERISH THE MOST?

My athletic abilities. I'm thankful everyday for them.
WHAT WOULD SURPRISE PEOPLE IF THEY KNEW ABOUT YOU

That I'm Athiest.
WHY DO YOU RUN? I'm curious as to how far and hard I can push my body.

WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF COACH JIM THE FIRST TIME YOU MET HIM

"Who's the guy with the Unibomber glasses?"

WHAT YOU THINK OF COACH JIM NOW He's like a runner's Yoda.

WHY TEAM UTOPIA? Because after the 3rd time Coach Bowles asked me to join the team, I finally caved in. I wish I had said "yes" the first time. It's a great group of people and my performances have drastically improved.

FAVORITE RUNNING MEMORY Finishing the 2007 MHRM in 2:49:36. I was shooting for 3 hours and it was my first marathon. It felt so awesome just to finish it.

LEAST FAVORITE RUNNING MEMORY Getting a stress fracture around the 20th mile in Boston in 2008. Ouch!

YOUR RUNNING STORY/HISTORY Well, two stories can answer this question. I start doing track & field in 9th grade at Colonie High to stay in shape for basketball and soccer. Down the road, I sat the bench half the time in basketball and broke 2 fingers in soccer (I was the goalie) so eventually, track became my favorite season in high school. My events were the 110m and 400m hurdles, high jump, triple jump, and the pentathlon. NO DISTANCE RUNNING! ECK! So in college, I didn't do any sports. I was a champion beer pong player and that's about it. So that lack of productivity led to me gaining about 40 pounds. I got back into running (distance running this time) and I ran my first 5K when I was 24 years old, and I've been working on improving both my distance times and my decathlon scores since then. So far, I think the distance running thing has been working pretty good.
