WHEN YOU STARTED RUNNING 10 years old, with my dad
WHY YOU STARTED RUNNING Wasn't the athlete my brothers were, so it was key to hang with dad and avoid helping my mom clean the house
WHEN YOU QUIT RUNNING High school and college, to make more time for drinking, smoking, beligerence, and debauchery
WHY YOU STARTED RUNNING AGAIN 8 years of debauchery makes you feel and look like hell...and then I started my personal training business and I had to train clients to start running, so...

WHAT DO YOU CHERISH THE MOST? Friends, family, health
WHAT WOULD SURPRISE PEOPLE IF THEY KNEW ABOUT YOU I keep trying to surprise people and it keeps failing.
WHY DO YOU RUN? Because it feels so great and it's my "self-talk" time.
WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF COACH JIM THE FIRST TIME YOU MET HIM What a wise-guy...I just don't know what else to make of him...
WHAT YOU THINK OF COACH JIM NOW Caring, smart, driven...and a real wise-guy.
WHY TEAM UTOPIA? Russell Lauer had been singing its praises so long...and I wanted to be sure to join a group where I'd have people to chase. And I'm stayin' because everyone is so supportive of each other...and such wise-guys.
FAVORITE RUNNING MEMORY My first marathon, in Burlington VT, LOVING the happy fans and the music and finishing right on goal.
LEAST FAVORITE RUNNING MEMORY Major quad injury on my last long training run for my next marathon, and not being able to run for 3 months, thank goodness I could still cycle.
COMMENTS Dig all kinds of activity, dig teaching others to find the kind of activity they love, dig hanging out with fellow runners/cyclists/instructors
