It was a PR day for many at the new venue of the Sefcu Labor Day 5k. Kimberly Miseno broke the elusive 19 minute mark and others came very close to the 20 and 21 minute barrier.

11 September -- The Amber Teta Memorial 5k run -- Mohanasen HS, Rotterdam NY
The course was flat and fast as advertised. Kimberly Miseno broke the 19 minute mark for the second time in a week on the way to
winning the women's race and setting the course record. Brian Northan also came very close to breaking the
19 minute mark and Cathy Sliwinksi was just over the 22 minute mark which was a major PR.
Age group awards were taken home by the majority of team members.

18 September -- The Lake Placid 1/2 Marathon -- Lake Placid NY
They call it the High Peaks Region for a reason but that didn't stop Utopians from running good times as well as having
a great time. Jon Rocco ran a PR and finished 4th overall. Nancy Taormina was the fourth woman and also set a 1/2 Marathon PR.
Ginny Pezzula and Becky Bednarek won age group awards and Jane Hawksley Ogle ran a solid PR. A good time was had at the Lake Placid
Brew Pub where we met up with TU Alumni and Iron Woman Schatzi Hall. Grand plans were made on the Sunday morning workout run around Mirror Lake, the summer training center for TU, etc.
It must have been the altitude or the after effects of too much UBU ale.
