02 February -- Evensen Blazes to a PR 2:28 in the 1000m Indoors
After being hand-timed by his coach at 2:26 for 1000m (gotta check those Princeton watches), Tyson Evensen finished in an official time of 2:28:81 at Penn State's indoor track this Saturday. Tyson's results from the the tri-meet, which included Princeton, Penn State, and UConn, are a great step toward his goal of 2:25 in the 1000m this indoor season.

09 February -- Hoyer and Bacon Sizzle in Florida 15k
Susie Bacon and Russ Hoyer escaped to Florida to represent Team Utopia at the Gasparilla Distance Classic 15k. Both posted excellent times as Susie ran a PR and Russ covered the course in sub-6 minute pace. Russ has been seen back in the area but it's up in the air as to whether Susie and her husband Dave will ever return to New York.

17 February -- Big Easy Too Easy for Team Utopia
Vikki Casey, Russ Hoyer and Ben Maynard ran the New Orleans Mardi Gras Races this weekend, each placing in the top three in their respective age group for their distance. The weather contributed to fine races for Casey in the 5k and both Hoyer and Maynard in the marathon event.

22 and 23 February -- Historic Quadruple for Terry
Chuck Terry surprised even Michael Johnson when he pulled off the quad at the Northeast District meet in Hagerstown MD this week. It is debatable whether Chuck was building strength or just lactic acid en route to solid showings in the 5000, 3000, Mile, and 1000.
Chuck's Personal Notes on the Meet:
5k 15:59.5 (2nd Place)
3k 9:18 (3rd Place)
Mile 4:37 (6th overall, from 2nd heat)
1k 2:46 (61 at 400m)
Could not walk after 1k, or for the next two days.
I got some strange looks from the Alfred distance runners?
Way to go, Chuck!
