01 January -- What Hangover? Rodriguez and Lauer take Hangover Half Marathon by storm
Jamie Rodriguez and Russell Lauer started the year atop the Grand Prix age group standings (men - women) after 1:16 and 1:26 finishes Tuesday at the HMRRC Hangover Half Marathon. Most of Team Utopia came out to brave the elements in the 3M and Half Marathon races.

05 January -- Hoyer and Maynard work off that holiday girth at Fat Ass 50k
Russ Hoyer and Ben Maynard survived a rather hilly course en route to a finish at the Staatsburg, NY Fat Ass 50k Saturday. Jim Bowles, Vikki Casey, Ken Plowman, Jamie Rodriguez and Al Maikels came along for the ride and each ran between 10k and 40k for the day.

13 January -- Taormina, Hoyer and Dunne at HMRRC Winter Series 25k
Despite heavy wind gusts Sunday, Russ Hoyer and Chris Dunne ran a strong race, both finishing the HMRRC Winter Series 25k under 1:45 to lead all Team Utopia 25k participants. Nancy Taormina paced the women in the 25k, finishing in 2:19:34.
In the 10k, Chuck Terry ran a second-place 35:43. Susie Bacon and Dory Fisk rounded out the Team Utopia field in 52:16 and 58:02 respectively.

27 January -- Team Utopia Takes Advantage of Beautiful Weather at Winter Series #4
Under ideal January conditions, Team Utopia had a strong showing at the HMRRC Winter Series #4 Races. Ken Plowman won the 30k in 1:55:58 while Nancy Taormina won the 15k for the women in 69:47. Penny Tisko was Team Utopia's lone participant in the 3M event, finishing in 25:45.
