07 July -- Adirondack Distance Run Latest Venue for Utopian Success
A strong turnout of Team members contributed to excellent placement in all team categories in the 2002 Adirondack Distance Run. The top open male Team entry failed to break its previous team record set in 2001 but still came home victorious. On the women's side, both the women's open and masters teams scored a strong second place in the USATF Adirondack 10 Mile Championship.

21 July -- Charles Terry's debut spoiled by Race's 2nd place team finish at Indian Ladder 3.5 Mile
Parker Race's best team finish yet was matched by Chuck Terry's dad Charles' surprise debut at the Indian Ladder 3.5 mile and 15k races this Sunday. Both ran an excellent race.
Many Utopians ran both races to burn the fuel necessary to thoroughly enjoy the HMRRC annual picnic following the race at Thacher Park. Congratulations to all participants and many thanks to the Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club for putting on an excellent race and picnic.

28 July -- Escarpment Trail 30k lives up to its billing
Despite rain, bee stings and treacherous conditions, Team Utopia's lone entry in the Escarpment Trail 30k toughed out an excellent finish. Ben Maynard, finishing in just over 4 hours, claims to have thoroughly enjoyed his scamper through the gently rolling Catskill mountains.
