01 June -- Masters Teams 2nd and 5th at Women's National 5k Championships, Open Team 10th
Led by a strong group of over 40 runners, Team Utopia Masters teams placed an incredible 2nd and 5th at the Freihofer's Run for Women National 5k Championships this Saturday. The Open team also fared very well, placing 10th in the nation. Newcomers Schatzi Hall and Karen Dolge both ran strong races and figure to be a large part of the Team's success in the future.

08 June -- Mochrie delivers at Rotary Ramble
Sue Mochrie traveled to Fort Plain, NY as the lone participant in the 2002 Rabbit Ramble and came home victorious. Sue posted an excellent time for the 10k event and finished first in her age group to take the hardware home.

08 June -- Hettrich keeps up winning ways at Market Square 10k
David Hettrich ran a solid time en route to being the first NY state finisher in the star-studded Market Square 10k race this weekend in Portsmouth, NH. Dave is running very well right now and should prove to be a factor in many summer and fall races in 2002.

09 June -- Gold descends on HMRRC Distinguished Service Race
The Team went to the SUNY Albany campus to honor HMRRC Distinguished Service Award winner Lori Christina and returned home with many accolades of their own at this Sunday's 8M Distinguished Service Race. Karen Dolge won the women's contest, while Nancy Taormina placed 6th and Penny Tisko 12th. On the men's side, Utopia scored an impressive 1-2-3-6-7-9 to place 6 in the top ten.

15 June -- Plowman drops love bomb on 10k field at Empire State Games qualifier
Ken Plowman ran the last 2+ miles alone to easily win the Adirondack Region's Empire State Games 10,000m qualifier on Saturday. The win qualifies Ken to represent Team Utopia and the Adirondack region at the Games this July and August in Syracuse.

15 June -- Maynard humbled at Mt. Washington Road Race
Resident mountain climber Ben Maynard made his way to New Hampshire this weekend to tangle with the top U.S. mountain runners (with a few Kenyans thrown in for good measure) at the Mt. Washington Road Race. Maynard fared well, but not as well as he wanted, en route to a painful climb up the NH mountain.

16 June -- Wood comes out of the woodwork to scare leaders at Run for the Arts 5k
A little rain couldn't discourage Team Utopia as team members headed out for a Father's Day trot at the Run for the Arts this Sunday. See the picture page for hot photos of this tighly contested race.
