04 May -- Chuck Terry 1st and 4th at NJCAA Regional Championships Chuck Terry ran 1st in the 5000m and 4th in the 1500m this Saturday at the NJCAA Regional Championships. Chuck is preparing for the outdoor nationals next weekend, where he'll take it easy (with only the 1500, 5000 and 10,000 on tap). Good luck Chuck!
04 May -- Taormina leads a strong Utopia charge at Neighborhood Challenge The 2002 AMC Neighborhood Challenge was a success for Team Utopia as Nancy Taormina won the women's race and Matt Wood ran to the 3rd place finish in the men's race.
05 May -- Quality not quantity as Team Utopia's lone entry finishes 4th at Literacy Run After running recently in the Boston Marathon, Adrian Soto came back to place 4th in the Literacy Run 5k in Troy NY this Sunday. Adrian's 17:27 5k is a great start to his spring racing season as the weather heats up.
05 May -- The gold sweeps 25th Bennington Road Races in VT this Sunday Team Utopia jerseys were seen at the front of both the 3.8 and 10 mile races in Bennington this Sunday. Team Utopia placed 1-2 in the shorter distance and 2nd in the longer distance for a very successful showing.
11 May -- Team Utopia comes home winners from Prospect Mountain Hill Climb Jamie Rodriguez led the charge with a victory at Prospect Mountain (full results - age group winners) as many Team entries placed in their age group on this beautiful May morning in Lake George, NY. Congrats to all participants in this 5.67 mile event!
11 May -- Solid showing for McLean at 1st Annual Our Lady of Victory run Two days after twisting his ankle in a gruesome accident on a training run, Mike McLean toughed out a solid 5k at the Our Lady of Victory Fun Run in Troy, NY. Originally, team trainers had him listed as day-to-day and announced that his participation would be a race-time decision. Just minutes before the starting gun, Mike jumped from the table on which he was receiving aggressive electrostimulant treatment, laced on his 1981 Kangaroos racers, and headed to the line to accompany his wife Cameron thru the 3.1 mile course.
25 May -- Get out your brooms: Utopia sweeps Memorial Day Races in Voorheesville Team Utopia went 1-2-3 in the 15k event and took 1st in the 3.2k at the Voorheesville Memorial Day Races this weekend. Official results are incomplete but it was confirmed that a blur of gold was seen in the lead pack.
26 May -- Farkash 49th overall at Nissan Buffalo Marathon Ron Farkash set and met his goal Sunday at the Buffalo Marathon, running a 3:17 on a windy day in Buffalo, NY. Congrats to Ron as her recovers from his 26.2 mile run!
26 May -- Vermont City Marathon a success for Team Utopia Four Team members set out on a windy day in Burlington VT and each came home a winner at the Vermont City Marathon this Sunday. Congratulations to each team member as their hard work paid big dividends.
26 May -- Evensen, Hettrich and Mochrie tear up the trails at Tour De Park XC race Tyson Evensen, Dave Hettrich and Sue Mochrie decided to forego the roads in favor of the Bethlehem grass and trails Sunday at the Tour De Park VIII XC 5k. Both ran excellent times en route to finishes at the cross country event.
27 May -- Maikels earns his Brooklyn Brown at Woodstock 15k Al Maikels was the lone Team Utopia entry at the Woodstock Races this Memorial Day Monday, running a solid time to earn himself a few Brooklyn Browns from the post party keg.
