02 September -- Soto Shines at SEFCU Labor Day 5k Jamie Rodriguez finished 2nd and Adrian Soto ran a PR at this Monday's SEFCU Labor Day 5k. Relative newcomers John Parisella, Jack Reed, Kim Derocco and Tina Willson also ran well, as did the rest of the Team Utopia contingency at this HMRRC Grand Prix event.
07 September -- Parisella leads the charge at Old Chatham 5k John Parisella used a killer kick to make some noise at the hilly Old Chatham 5k this Saturday. Another noisemaker at the race was Dory Fisk, who failed to slide under the cut for the long sleeved t-shirts. Dory begudgingly accepted her short sleeved tee and ran the race anyway.
08 September -- Speedy Saint looks out for Sue Mochrie at Ovarian Cancer Awareness 5k Luckily, before Sue Mochrie had a chance to get lost at the Ovarian Cancer Awareness 5k this weekend, Adrian Soto had righted the course. Getting lost while leading the race didn't phase Soto; Adrian returned to the course, directed others to the correct turn, then remembered he was actually a participant in the race. After fulfilling his Saintly duties, Adrian flew back to second place, where he stayed until the finish.
14 September -- Team members conquer Adirondacks in Half Marathon Three reclusive Utopians appeared from hiding to run the Lake Placid Half Marathon this weekend. None of the three had been recently seen on the local running scene, probably indicating intense preparation for the challenge of the Lake Placid hills. None disappointed as the results were strong on this tough course.
15 September -- The Team comes out in numbers for the HMRRC Anniversary Run Larry Phillips finished well at the shorter distance and Chuck Terry ran away with the longer race at the HMRRC Anniversary Run this weekend.
15 September -- Rodriguez Takes on Kenyans at CVS/Pharmacy Downtown 5k Jamie Rodriguez ventured to Providence, RI for the CVS/Pharmacy Downtown 5k this weekend. The competition was some of the nation's best and Jamie did not disappoint, running a solid 4:52 pace for the 5k distance.
21 September -- Nisky DARE Run a Breeze for Utopians Four Utopians tackled the Niskayuna Run for DARE 5k this weekend. Congrats to all participants in this excellent event.
22 September -- Adirondacks a great backdrop for a Marathon The beginning of fall marks the changing of leaves and the Adirondack Marathon this weekend. Both Clarlie Smullen and Schatzi Hall took advantage of the beautiful weather to complete this beautiful Adirondack race.
22 September -- Huge Turnout for Arsenal City Races Utopians can out in numbers to participate in a fall classic: the lighning fast Arsenal City 5k/10k in Watervliet, NY. Each team member fared well, as many PRs were broken and everyone had fun.
28 September -- Utopians Successful at FAM 5k Run The Team traveled west to Cobleskill to take on the 9th annual FAM "Fund" Run this weekend. This race never disappoints, offering an excellent course and atmosphere as well as great prizes.
29 September -- Hettrich shines at 8k XC Championships David Hettrich was the Team's lone participant in the Adirondack USATF 8k XC Championships this Sunday. His results were outstanding, given the hilly and grassy nature of the course.
